4 months!!!

Dakota turned 4 months on 03/28 but once again, I'm just now getting to uploading and editing her 4 month pics! We had her 4 month check up and she weighed 12 lb 9 oz (25%) and was 24 1/4 in height (50%). She is still so tiny! We are finally into 3-6 months clothing and even some of it just falls off of her. She's my precious little angel! She had to get a few shots at this appt and did great!! I think it upsets Mommy more than it does her :(

Now I need to get working on her 5 month ones already... ha!

We took Dakota to the zoo for the 1st time today!!! Daddy took off at noon and met us there.. its 1/2 price on Wednesdays :) We had an AMAZING time! D loved it so much she passed out twice!! ha ! It was a long and hot day for babygirl!

Look what I did today...





I took a nap in my big girl crib!!!!! This is a big step for us!! I am going to "try" getting her in her own crib around 6 months so I'm slowly introducing her to it now during naptime. Since she is upstairs, we're having a hard time moving her now (we're meaning Mommy & Daddy). We'll see how that goes in a couple months :)

Wha'd you do to my grandbaby??

My Dad's famous words when his grand-daughters get their ears pierced.. yup, we did it!!! Dakota got her ears pierced the day before Easter, April 3rd. She did GREAT!!! She cried for about 2 minutes, and I cried for over an hour! I don't know why because she was fine.. I guess I was just sad for her. I am really happy we did it ! They look adorable and she doesnt even know they are there, so she doesnt mess w/ them at all. I figure I'd be sad to see her in pain whether she is 4 months old, or 12 years old getting her ears pierced. At least now, she wont remember even the instant pain she felt.

Here we are about to get her ears pierced.. You can tell I was scared! (excuse the no make-up look, ha!)

Happy Easter!!

We had a GREAT 1st Easter with Dakota!! We started out the day having brunch w/ Chadd's parents, Gigi & Gido, and a great family friend Marleine. We ate at The Gardens Restaurant (thats the name) they have at the Ft Worth botanical gardens. Its SO yummy and we had a great time visiting and walking around the gardens afterwards!

After brunch we went to my Dad's house for Easter dinner. We had a GREAT time spending the day with everyone and having an Easter egg hunt!

Dakota looooved this piece of candy (in the wrapper of course). Papa took it from her and she started crying so he gave it back reaaaal quick- ha!!!

I just love this picture.. it really shows her personality!! She is such a happy little thing.. she really only cries if she's hungry or tired. Otherwise, she loves to laugh and smile! I'm SO in love!

Our growing Babygirl!

Every month I take pics of Dakota w/ a onsie on and the number of what month she is.. I've done months 1, 2, and 3 so far and will be doing her 4 month pics this week. I really love how the onsies and the pics have turned out! When she is 12 months, I am going to do a really cool frame w/ all her monthly pictures. Here's what we have so far :)

She's growing so fast.. I'm cherishing every single moment and loving being a Mommy to this sweet angel baby!!!

Dakota's 1st vacation..

On 03/19 we headed to Burbank, CA to surprise Chadd's dearest friend JR, who had a precious baby girl on 03/18, Halo Grace. We were in touch w/ Mommy, Kadee, the whole time and were just waiting on the phone call that they had gone into labor. We flew into Burbank and headed straight to the hospital. Chadd put on his hospital attire from when Dakota was born and got their nurse in on the surprise! The nurse walked in the room and asked Kadee and JR if they would mind if another nurse followed her around that day.. of course they said they didnt mind and then Chadd walked in the room. D and I waited in the waiting room cause babies werent allowed back, but I was on the phone w/ Kadee the whole time so I could hear the surprise and Kadee captured the whole thing on video. JR's reaction was priceless!!! 2 grown men in complete tears, hugging and JR in just total disbelief, GREATNESS!!

We really enjoyed visiting w/ them and seeing Halo!! We would go visit them in the hospital every morning and then we were able to do some touristy things as well. Thankfully Chadd's other great friend, Nick, also lives in LA and went w/ us 2 of the days to show us around. Here are some pics of our fun times in Cali!

D was amazing in the plane!! She looooves looking around and checking things out! She slept for a lot of it, but when she was awake, she wanted to just look around, smiling and laughing at everyone. She was the little entertainment of the plane ride :)
